Gifts
From the earliest years of the College, alumni and affiliates have generously offered donations of artwork and artifacts in support of its teaching and learning mission. Gifts comprise the greatest part of the Art Museum’s collection and each tells a story about the collectors, their interests, and their relationships to the College.
That tradition has continued with two bequests in 2018 from alumni Charlene Derge Sussel ’53, and Raymond Machesney ’59. In addition to the artworks left to the college at their deaths, during their lifetimes each made significant financial donations in support of the Art Museum.
Donors Terry and Toby Schupbach-Gordon, John Szoke, and Thomas R. Foster were not previously affiliated with the College before their gifts of artwork, but discovered unique and meaningful connections that led them to place their work here.
